"Reel" Life Quotes

“We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, "O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless... of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?" Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?”

― Dead Poets Society

“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?”

― Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

“Walter Mitty: To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life.”

― The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

"So I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons. And maybe we'll never know most of them."

― The Breakfast Club

"Reel" Life

I don’t really have a favorite movie, I've seen too many good ones. Some of my favorites are The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Kung Fu Panda, yes you read that right Kung Fu Panda and Midnight in Paris. I love all these movies for different reasons. I love the art in Midnight in Paris, I love the silliness Kung FU Panda and how moving Walter Mitty is and how it always makes me feel good. I have many other favorites but I cannot think of them all.
I usually don’t like horror movies. I don’t like the idea of being scared. I don’t like being scared. The only horror movie I can watch is the shining.
My family loves movies. My dad can go on spewing out random information about movies for hours. I usually watch a movie about once a week. I go to the movies about 2 times a month. When I go to the movies my family gets a large popcorn then I get Twizzlers and share them with my sister.
The survey told me that I watch movies for pure enjoyment. Which I believe is true because I don’t feel think there is any other need to watch a movie. It also told me that I enjoy watching movies with other people. It told me that I like artistic movies, which i think is true. Since my family is really into movies we also watch indie movies which don’t typically making it to the big box offices. It also told me that I don’t like horror movies or action movies. I do like action movies but to a certain point. One superhero movie is good every once in awhile but I cannot watch them over and over again. It also told me that I like to rewatch movie for nostalgia purposes. I love watching old movies that remind me of my childhood. I especially love watching them with my family.
If my life was a movie I would have AnnaSophia Robb play me because I think she looks like me and I really like her acting skills. I would include my growing up and then me graduating high school. I would show my college years and then the beginning of my career. I would want my movie to be a feel good movie. I love the movies that make me cry because the movie is just so beautiful. I would want my movie to be aesthetically pleasing. I would have Wes Anderson direct my movie because I love his style of cinematography.

This Is...

This is a little girl. The little girl's name is Anna and the man whose lap she is sitting on is her father Joe. Joe is currently waiting for the bus that will come pick him up and take him away from Anna.  From his family. The men behind Joe and Anna are also waiting for the bus. They too are saying goodbye to their families. What you see in the picture is a moment of happiness.

This is Anna mother behind the camera. You cannot see the tears rolling down her face or the smudged red lipstick on her chin. Lily met Joe when they were just 17. They were married a year after that and they had Anna just 6 months after their wedding. Now, 4 years later she never thought that she would be saying goodbye. Joe did not know, Anna did not know but Lily knew that this would be that last time Anna and Lily would see Joe.

This is Anna kissing her father goodbye and telling him she loved him one last time.

Flea Market Photos

This picture is of all the butlers that worked at
the Kensington house hold in 1935. The house has had a total of 85 butlers come and go through out the house but there are only 11 still alive when this picture was taken. William James is the curtain butler at the Kensington house he is the one on the far left fist row. He has been working at the Kensington house for only 6 months. He invited all the butlers from the past to come to a lunch hosted by the Kensington family. The Kensington family consists of Stephen Kensington and his two young daughters Elle and June. Elle is 12 years old and June is 10. They both joined the lunch in and were able to see some of their old butlers. It was actually Elle’s idea to take the photo of all the butlers and was able to get them all to take a photo together.  At the lunch in all the butlers were able to exchange stories and talk with one another about serving the Kensington’s.  Some of the butlers were able to tell Elle and June stories about their mother who dies when Ella was 8 and June was 6. They were able to tell stories of their mother’s childhood because they had served her when she was young.  The girl’s faces were pure joy being able to her about their mother. Their father, Stephen, was there at the lunch in too. He kept to himself mostly. Letting the butlers get to connect and share their stories. He loved getting to here stories about his wife. The Kensington’s have never had such a lovely lunch in.

When the IPod first came out I was only three years old.
My mom did not get the iPod until 2006 and up until that point, we had only been using CDs. I thought my mom’s iPod was the coolest thing in the world. It had a screen that you could watch music videos on. It also had games like solitaire and pinball. But the coolest thing about the iPod was all the music it was able to carry on it. my sisters and I would steal the iPod away from my mom and listen and dance to Hannah Montana, The Jonas Brothers, High school musical, Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson and so many other artists that defined my childhood. In 2010 I wanted my own iPod so for my birthday my mom got me the iPod shuffle. It was small and blue and it had my name engraved on the back. I was able to listen to whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. After a year my mom for my 11 birthday got my an iPod Nano. It was skinny and green and it had a touch screen just like my mom's iPod. I loved that iPod. Then the iPod touches came out and I Just had to have one. My mom said that if I wanted it I was going to have to buy it myself. It was 100 dollars and for a whole summer I saved all my money and on the last day of summer I bought one. My iPod touch was my everything. You could play games and listen to music and text your friends. I had that until 2013 when my mom gave my firstiPhonee. I will never forget all my IPod and how much they impacted my childhood.

Something that will always remind me of being at KHS is IDs. Ever since freshman I have always been told to wear an ID. Even though I might not always wear it I always have it on me. #don'twalkdownthemathhallwaywithoutanID

Something handwritten is Maddi's calligraphy. Maddi is always writing words in cool ways on pieces of paper. #stressreliever

something that is an interesting angle is this lamp. The lamp looks like it has vines running throughout it. This lamp reminds me of a lamp my grandma used to have. #memories

This is typewriter something old. This typewriter might bring up some old memories for a lot of people.  I really want to type on a typewriter one day. #hipster
This is something a little kid might find interesting. Kids love emojis and might find this funny interesting. #emojis

This is a book I found lying around in Mrs. Frazer's room. This book is a part of the shiver series by Maggie Stiefvater. I have not read these books but I have read her other series The Raven Cycle. #toberead

Caged Bird-Inspired Piece

I Don't Know Why...

I don't know why bad things happen to good people
I don't know why it rains on birthday or why ice cream falls off cones
I don't know why people walk forward or why some people need glasses
I don't know why some people have light skin and dark skin
I don't know why we are so quick to judge
I don't know why some people choose to love and some people choose to hate

I do know that some days are good and some are bad
I do know that happiness is an emotion that can come and go
I do know that good people make bad mistakes
I do know it's going to be okay
